2019 District Teacher of the YEAR Award

 

District 16 will acknowledge and celebrate the teachers of our bridge community at the Lone Star Regional with Teacher Appreciation Day on Friday February 8th. The winner of the 2019 Teacher of the Year Award will also be announced that day. We had an especially strong slate of candidates this year, listed below. Please be sure to thank them and any other bridge teachers you know for their efforts in bringing in new players.

Flight B only: 1st Session – Friday, April 5 at 7:30 pm

Continuing Saturday & Sunday @ 10 am & 2:30 pm

All other Flights: Saturday & Sunday @ 10 am & 2:30 pm

*** Championship Flight and Flight A: please be registered on site 30 minutes prior to start time or notify BJ Sanders with your team members’ names by Friday evening, April 5 at: bjinaustin@gmail.com

- Qualifying

Flights B & C: Each Team Member must have qualified in a GNT Club Qualifier or a GNT Unit Qualifier held in District 16 between September 2018 and March 2019.

Flight A and Championship Flight: No pre-qualifications necessary.

Houston will be holding its Election Sectional at the same location beginning Friday, at 10 am & 2:30 pm. Warm-ups anyone?

Flights B & C need to qualify, though A players may play in games with unlimited masterpoints and win points.

Super Flight is unlimited, Flight A is 0 - 6000, Flight B is 0 - 2500, Flight C is non-life master with less than 500 masterpoints. MP Cutoff is August 6, 2018.

Each player must be a member in good standing of District 16.

Each Team may include 4, 5, or 6 players.

Players qualify as individuals and may form new teams for the District Finals.
