Barbara Jane Boren, age 73, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2014. While a homemaker with young children, she obtained a degree from Austin College in 1975. Barbara was a world traveler and a passionate bridge player. She was a member of several bridge clubs in San Antonio and played at least three times a week. She loved to cook and enjoyed weekly home cooked meals with her twin granddaughters. She found pleasure acting in Community Theater and once was a stand-in and photo double for Bette Davis. She was a member of Laurel Heights United Methodist Church, participated in Senior activities at Alamo Heights United Methodist Church and volunteered her time at the Majestic Theater. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Don Boren and is survived by her children: Michael Simpson, Cynthia Simpson, Blake Simpson and wife, Cristina; twin granddaughters Juliana and Audrey Simpson; sister, Joann Black; brothers George Marsh and wife, Wanda; Bill Marsh and wife, Debbie.
