Stir together:
3 large egg yolks
1 t vanilla
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups milk
Heat together on low - medium until first signs of boiling,
while stirring attentively. (A scupper makes the best tool for
stirring. It is a wood utensil with a straight-edged bottom) At
this point add:
1T cornstarch in 1/4 cup cold water
1/2 cup good whiskey
Heat until it thickens.
Serve warm over your favorite bread pudding.
This is so wonderful that your guests will scrape every bit up.
