Sylvia's Plum Delicious Coffee Cake

3 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 cup oil
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
2 cups flour
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup chopped pitted dried plums

Bake for one hour at 350 in a tube or bundt pan. 

Comments from Arlene: After cutting thin slices of this marvelous cake I sifted powdered sugar liberally over them. The cake is better the second day and even better the third if you have any left. Keep in a sealed Tupperware-like container to preserve and distribute the moisture. I used fresh ground nutmeg.
