HENRY REED HEEBNER, JR. of Spring, TX passed away on October 9, 2008.
During a long illness, he exhibited an inner strength and love of life
that served as inspiration to all. Henry was born in Philadelphia, PA
on November 14, 1933. He graduated from the Episcopal Academy, Yale
University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He began his
career as an assistant U.S. attorney then moved into corporate law,
establishing a reputation as an anti-trust expert. He worked at RCA
and Ford Motor Company before joining the Atlantic-Richfield Co. in
Houston in 1974. Henry and his beloved wife, Joanna, enjoyed traveling
and opera. He was a bridge Life Master and certified ACBL director.
Together they owned and operated the Bridge Studio in Northwest
Houston, where they made many wonderful friends. Henry is survived by
his wife, Joanna; daughters Emily Heebner Baker and husband Harris of
Austin, TX, and Elizabeth Halliday Heebner of New York, NY;
grandchildren Reed Baker and Sarah Baker; sisters Natalie Heebner Glen
and Barbara Heebner Legakis; brother Charles Heebner, mother-in-law
Clara Schiro, and their families. He was well loved, and he will be
missed greatly. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 13
from 5 to 7 p.m., with a vigil beginning at 7 p.m., at Klein Funeral
Home, 16131 Champion Forest Drive. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated
at 11:00a.m., Tuesday at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Community, 7810
Cypresswood Dr. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American
Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association or the
Disabled Veterans of America.
